Experience the perfect blend of art and craftsmanship in this serene ceramics workshop. Create two unique ceramic plates featuring a shared embroidered figure design—one for yourself and one for someone special.

David Hedderman
David Hedderman is an Irish artist and musician based in Berlin since 2008. He established regular life drawing classes and workshops from his studio in Kreuzberg, Berlin (2011-2021), and was invited to teach and share his methods in various international schools. His works are regularly exhibited both in Germany and Ireland. David is also the author of Draw, a graphic guide to life drawing, published by Ammonite Press in 2017.
Yuka Tanaka
Yuka Tanaka is a multidisciplinary artist whose work consists primarily of self-portraiture. She holds a B.A. in Performing Arts from Tama Art University in Tokyo (2012). In 2011, she started her career in life modeling, which brought her to collaborate with top institutions, leading fashion and art photographers, and fine artists in Tokyo, London, Dublin, and Berlin. Yuka's work bridges her performance background with her innovative approach to visual arts.
What to Expect:

Life Drawing Session: Begin with a life drawing session led by David Hedderman, featuring live model Yuka Tanaka, set to a carefully curated music playlist designed to inspire your creativity.

Hand-Building Ceramics: Learn the art of hand-building a pair of ceramic plates under the expert guidance of Yellow Nose Studio.

Wire Figure Creation: Guided by Yuka Tanaka, transform your life drawings into elegant wire figures, which will serve as templates for your ceramic plate designs.

Embroidered Plate Design: Embroider your wire-inspired figure onto the plates and select from a collection of curated glazes to complete your pieces.
What You’ll Take Home:
At the end of the workshop, you’ll receive:

One life drawing, created during the initial session.

One wire figure, crafted from your drawing.

Two ceramic plates, professionally fired, glazed, and wrapped—one for yourself and one for a loved one.

All participants must ensure they have private liability insurance.

Space is limited, and finished ceramics will be stored for up to 3 months after completion.
